“ Bar Primi is one of those spots in NYC that just gets it right. The Italian menu has something for everyone — from pasta lovers to those just in the mood for a light bite — and everything I tried was fresh and full of flavor. But honestly, what really makes this place special is the vibe. The lighting is perfect (not too dim, not too bright), and the whole ambiance feels warm, stylish, and effortlessly cool. It’s cozy and elegant without feeling stuffy — the kind of place where you can relax and really enjoy your night. Highly recommended. ”
“ I chose a last minute reservation to celebrate my birthday and it felt like a dream come true. The service, the ambiance, the food and drinks were all outstanding. We were warmly greeted with a smile by Sabrina, and another host upon walking in. We were quickly walked to our table and already brought to a servers attention. The food came out at a timely manner, and the waitress gave us space to dine while still knowing exactly when to check in. The appetizers, the main and the desserts were phenomenal. If you have not been to Bar Primi Penn District, you are missing out on real dining. Thank you so much for making my birthday so special. ”
“ I was here once before, I sat at the bar and Michael was my server/bartender. Besides the quality drinks, amazing food, and fast service, they really make you feel welcome. Today was no exception. I came in looking for Michael, but he was off. I met Sabrina at the door. I work in hospitality and always look for the definition of it when I visit places in the industry. Sabrina exceeds the definition. When she found out I was there for Michael, she took my info to pass along to him. She then walked me over to the bar and introduced me to the bartender, Ty — another amazing bartender with excellent service. Can’t say enough good things about here. If you are looking for a great place. Great food and amazing service. Not to mention they Have an outdoor patio. Didn’t have time for food this time, but I’ll definitely be back. ”
“ I had such a great lunch experience here! The atmosphere is absolutely lovely—warm, inviting, and stylish without feeling overdone. We sat at the bar, which was a perfect spot since it faces large windows with a great view of the outside seating area. The patio is beautifully decorated and looks super cozy for a nice-weather day. As for the food—delicious! I had the chicken cutlet sandwich, and my partner had the meatball hero. We both loved our choices. My sandwich was lighter, with a fresh salad and a flavorful Italian dressing tucked inside—so satisfying but not too heavy. The meatball hero was hearty and perfectly seasoned. You can tell they put real care into their ingredients. They changed the bread for the sandwiches to focaccia due to an allergy, and I feel it’s an even better choice for these sandwiches. Light and fluffy - so good!!!!! Trust! Highly recommend for a casual yet elevated lunch spot. Will definitely be back! ”
“ Amazing atmosphere! Super friendly staff and the woman at the front who welcomed us in was especially kind and helpful :) Food was so delicious, dare I say best calamari I’ve ever had. Drinks were perfect and I can definitely see this as a happy hour spot for businesses in the area as the bar area looked just as comfortable. Will 100% be returning :) ”
“ What’s not to love about Chef Carmellini’s food. It delicious and warms the sole. It was a cold rainy night but being welcomed into a warm and inviting setting was wonderful. The food amazing, service was lovely and the environment cozy and fun. ”
“ The outdoor patio is where it’s at Get the fried tomato rice with mozzarella! It’s so tiny but so good! Pizzas are always solid. Meatball is good. Actually pretty much everything is great here ”
